Pinterest just went more mobile: a few hours ago they released the first official Pinterest Android app and first device-specific Pinterest iPad app.
Android owners in particular had been clamouring for an app for their devices. Now it’s here, and apparently has been designed specifically for the Android platform, rather than being a port of their iPhone app.
Interestingly, the new Pinterest iPad app includes a built-in web browser with a button that lets you see everything people have pinned from a given website.
Alongside the Android and iPad app announcements, Pinterest also released a revamped version of their iPhone app which is faster and has introduced a new 2-column display for browsing.
With mobile usage continuing to grow quickly, these new apps are going to be important interfaces through which people interact with the service.
