We knew it was coming soon. Now it’s here: Pinterest’s new Brazilian Portuguese language option.
As of today, Pinterest users can now select “Português (Brasil)” from Pinterest’s list of language settings.
With a population of around 190 million, Brazil is an increasingly important market for web businesses. The launch of their Brazilian Portuguese option means that, along with their Latin American Spanish option, Pinterest now caters well to nearly everyone in South America.
This said, we’ve heard complaints from users that some translations (done using volunteers) have left a bit to be desired so far, with rather inaccurate wording. No doubt the Pinterest team will tidy those issues up soon.
How do you think this will affect take-up of Pinterest in Brazil? And which language option would you like to see Pinterest release next?
